Gaming Features
Samsung continues to offer improvements in gaming performance with the Q800T. Game mode latency is now under 10 ms and engaging Auto Motion Plus processing only increases it to about 20 ms. The adjustable-strength Dynamic Black Equalizer function lets you see details in shadow areas you might otherwise miss, without having to unnaturally brighten everything else on screen.
An automatic Game Mode with ALLM chooses the right settings for gaming when it recognizes an Xbox or PS4 playing a game. It'll revert to your preferred non-gaming mode if you stream a movie instead, so you really don't have to worry about switching back and forth.
4K gamers will be excited to know that HDMI Port 4 on the Q800T supports 2160p/10-bit (HDR) video at 120 Hz—if you have a system capable of such a feat. This TV also supports Freesync VRR at frame rates up to 120 Hz (1080/1440p) and 60 Hz with 4K. And if you are so hardcore you have an 8K gaming rig able to output 60 Hz, 10-bit video, it'll support that as well.
It is thought that the 82" will have 480 zones.
