GIEC G5300 Reproductor: Clon Pioneer LX500 con lector UHD óptico

To use external subtitle with ISO bluray, just put the .ass subtitle in the same folder of the iso and rename the subtitle with the same name of the iso, just like you do with mkv files.
Using external srt subtitles with iso Blu-ray works nicely. Need to have UTF-8 encoding to display correctly some characters. (TNT firmware 3.90)

So seems the TNT firmware is better than the Pioneer one. Does anyone tested to upgrade from the Pioneer to the TNT and vice versa(in case I decide to go back to Pioneer)?

Hi,
Yes, I am using the latest version. It is a different version than the real Pioneer lx500 Jailbreak. Seems that the team behind the Giec Pioneer firmware don't care about the problem with the special characters in the subtitles or SACD iso playback. I have a friend who contacted the team and they told him that it is impossible to support SACD iso with Giec and they don't have any plans to support special characters with UTF-8 srt with isos.
Now we know that Giec can play SACD ISO with TNT firmware!

Ok. It was released today TNT 3.92 with some improvements on external subtitles but have not tried yet. What is strange is that both GIEC Pioneer firmware and GIEC TNT firmware have the exact same change log...

The FW for the Pioneer / Pannde / Giec etc. is bought and always comes from a company. The FW is then only adapted to the player (remote control, display, appearance, etc.). That is why an adapted Pioneer FW would also run on the Giec. At the Pannde I have both at hand. That is a program. Only the look was changed. The original Pioneer FW also runs on the Pannde. Only then is there e.g. no display / remote control. Every manufacturer has its own part. But essentially all players have the "Pioneer FW". You can see that. I suspect the core of the FW is commissioned by the chip manufacturer and sold with the chip.

Probably you are correct.
Seems that they´re is only developer (gzhdsir) and the other adapt the layout, remote control,... because the changelog is always the same.
Anyone knows how to download from Baidu ?

Última edición:
I think there are two teams working with the firmware. One is MrHD team. They make a firmware for the real Pioneer player and the TNT for Giec. That is why the change log is the same.
There is also the BRB team, they make a firmware for real Pioneer(with less features than MrHD one) and the Giec Pioneer firmware(which has less features too). Seems MrHD is more active in updates and adding features.

I just asked BRB team about the Pioneer based firmware differences between them and MrHD. They gave me the following answer:
"Main features are the same. As far as they know, MrHD does not design any hardware and they use only G5300 Mainboard. They added few features such as playbill/poster, but that will cause more instability."
I understand that a hardware manufacturer focus more on stability as on more features. MrHD has no direct responsibility for a final product and can tryout and play with the firmware as he likes. So everybody can choose what are his needs.
However, is a Blu-ray Player with Oppo Firmware not the better solution anyway?

Do you know the changelog for the BRB pionner firmware so we can compare both versions ?
I agree that Oppo has a better/more stable firmware but the GIEC also has some advantages (UHD/BD/CD player, CEC control, safer hard disk ejection, extended UHD/BD information...)

The cineULTRA V203 with Oppo firmware is a UHD/BD/CD Player (with optical drive)! Missing CEC or unsafe HDD ejection is a only a M9702 problem. Tocinillo is right now testing the sample that he received from me today. His first impression was very promising.

Nice :) Eager to see the review. If it´s a complete clone of oppo at a interessing price it will be a best seller

Yes, this player is awesome. I will publish a full review tomorrow but the first impressions are...awesome.

Very quick disc load, very good materials, VFD, stylish, good price...I want also the BDXL test.

Saludos.
